Looking for a Mother's Day or Graduation gift that makes a difference? Purchase items through the Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Handcraft Project, and provide vital income (thereby alleviating poverty and hunger) to artisans in developing countries. As an added benefit, 10% of the total retail price of every item is donated to LWR, and 10% to Good Shepherd to be used in supporting the ministry of Dan and Cathy Smith in Tanzania. Just pick up a sales catalog in the church narthex, and use your purchasing power to make a difference in our world.

A Bike Rodeo and Family Safety Day was held Saturday,July 20, 2003 in Good Shepherd's parking lot. Kids competed in a course designed to teach safe bike riding habits and win prizes,including a spot in the regional Bike Rodeo held in late summer. Parents learned about keeping their family safe at home and on the road. This event was co-sponsored by City of Kettering Safety Department.

Good Shepherd participated in Kettering's Holiday at Home Parade on Labor Day by entering a float. The theme for the parade, which commemorates Kettering's 50th anniversary, was "There's No Place Like Home. "Watch for more information this summer on how you can help design and build another award-winning float.

"Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20.
