Music & Arts Ministry

The Music and Arts Ministry at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has several opportunities for people wishing to express and share their talents through the worship experience.

Music

Those wishing to express their musical talent have many activities from which to choose. For more information about any of these groups, contact our Director of Chancel Choir and Instrumental Music, Mr. David Keener.

Chancel Choir - The Chancel Choir provides special music weekly during our Traditional Worship Service at 8:30am on Sundays. Practice for Chancel Choir is generally on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm in the choir practice room. Childcare is available.

Cantor - The church Cantor sings responsorial parts of the liturgy and leads the congregation in prayer.

Children's Choir - Children in first through sixth grades regularly sing during their Sunday School opening and provide special music during the church service several times each year.

Praise Team - Our praise team practices on Saturdays at 12:30pm. We use both voice and instruments to make a joyful noise to the Lord at our Contemporary Worship Service at 11:00am on Sundays.

Chimes and Handbell Choirs - Another way to participate is through our handbell choir. The handbell choir perfoms special music at various worship services throughout the year. All ages are welcome to join.

Arts

Good Shepherd offers two additional ministries that provide members of all ages an outlet for creative expression.

Dance Ministry - The Dance Ministry performs liturgical dance and secular dance routines several times throughout the year. This group invites people of all ages and abilities to participate.

Drama Ministry - Participants in the Drama Ministry perform monologues, dramatic readings, skits and plays during worship and at other special times throughout the year.
