Local Missionary in
Kyoto, Japan
Michael Lindner with English students
Tomiko, Kazuko, and Sachiko
Michael Lindner, who hails from Kettering, Ohio, and who's father, Erik,
attends Good Shepherd, is serving as a missionary in Kyoto, Japan, with
Food for the Hungry, an international
Christian organization that exists to fulfill a God-given mandate to help
people overcome both physical and spiritual hungers (Isaiah 58).
The way Michael endeavors to fulfill that mandate is through teaching
conversational English at Rakusai N.T. Evangelical Christ Church. Most
classes have a Bible reading at the end of the class.
It is his work to teach the Japanese to talk in English for their second
language and to pass on news of third world hunger conditions. It is his
hope that those who learn English in the church classrooms during the
week, will sometime also visit the church sanctuary on Sunday to experience
morning worship.
Michael also performs Christian weddings as a minister.
