Kiswahili Course is Complete!

On Friday August 31, we completed our intensive three week language course for beginner's Kiswahili! We have gone from knowing only two words (Asante - thank you and Karibu - welcome) to being able to greet people, count, make exchanges at the store, restaurants, post office, and market.

Don't worry, we will continue to communicate to you in good old American English. It was interesting for us to be the only Americans at our course. There were Germans, Brits, Danes, and Swedes. We felt fortunate that they were translating into English and English is our first language, and that was not the case for many of the participants!

Sarah attended her first week of school at the International School of Moshi Arusha Campus and she thoroughly has been enjoying class.

We are grateful that Dan will be able to begin his work with the LMC. We are delighted that our language learning will no be in the real world, and we are thankful that we are all healthy, and adjusting to our new environment.
